The ring index and punch attachment can automatically rotate the ring, actuate the punch and stop after one complete rotation of the ring.
The hole spacing is determined by means of indexing discs which have the appearance of a gear with teeth. Two discs are offered, 24 and 32 teeth. The indexing mechanism can move one, two, three, or four teeth at a time. This will provide 6,8,12, or 24 equally spaced holes with the 24 tooth disc and 8,16, or 32 equally spaced holes with the 32 tooth disc. Your choice of one disc is included.
Three manually adjustable spokes press against the inside of the ring to hold it. Once set, they can be retracted or extended by means of a self centering chuck in the center.
Pneumatic clamping is available. The spokes retract and extend pneumatically when the operator moves a lever. Special clamping arms are required for a special inside diameter of the ring. Each set of three clamping arms can be used for the diameter specified plus or minus one inch. One set of arms is included.
To have the ring stop automatically, a counter can be ordered, into which is set the required number of holes. With each hole punched, the counter shows one less. When zero is reached the counter causes the indexing to stop. Counter is automatically reset.
This attachment can be used with any punching machine or the punch end of any ironworker if the punch is electrically actuated, except it cannot be used with models BF, BFL, or KL350, BFLH 400, or any HPS or HPSN.
